Coming As a New Person

Attending a ceremony

Thank you for your interest in attending a ceremony in our church. We are a small spiritual community working together to preserve and continue the traditions of the Santo Daime spiritual path, and to ground Light on Earth, while offering and holding a safe space for healing and transformation.

As you begin our process of application and interview, please know that all are welcome here regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identification, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religious or political beliefs, or background. All we ask is that everyone comes to our ceremonies with an open mind and heart, and respect for the tenets and structure of the ceremony and the Daime path.

The Santo Daime is for everyone, and like any path and spiritual work, different people resonate with different things. This is a mutual interview process where all parties - us and you - can ask questions, learn more about each other, and establish if it’s a good fit.

What The Daime Is

The Santo Daime is a sacramental plant medicine tea inhabited by a Divine Intelligence. It is a healing beverage that works on all levels of a person to create a space for healing and Divine communion to occur. It is a powerful forest medicine that facilitates healing and self-knowledge.

What It Isn’t

The Santo Daime is not a drug nor is it a hallucinogenic substance. It is not a psychedelic experience. Individuals looking for that type of encounter are encouraged to go elsewhere in their search.

The Process

If you are interested in learning more about The Santo Daime and attending a ceremony at CHLQ:

  • Please download the new person’s packet.

  • Read through and fill out the packet. Email it or snail mail it back to us. We will then be in touch to schedule an interview if it seems like it’s a good fit.

  • If all parties feel it’s a good fit, then you’ll get set up to come to the next available ceremony.

Interested in Attending a Ceremony?

We have a simple, clear process for interviewing new people interested in joining us for a ceremony. Please download this packet, read through it, fill out the form, and email it back to us as an email attachment. We’ll then be in touch to schedule an interview.
